Who decides how your life should end — you or the state?

End-of-life decisions are deeply personal. The state should safeguard rights, not override them. Denying someone the freedom to choose how and when they die in the face of unbearable suffering is not protection — it’s control.

Is forcing someone to suffer really protecting life?

Prolonging unbearable suffering against someone’s will isn’t compassion — it’s cruelty. True respect for life includes respecting the quality of that life. Protecting life shouldn’t mean denying a person the dignity to decide when enough is enough.

Does legalising euthanasia harm palliative care? (Hint: No)

Countries with legal assisted dying often have better palliative care, not worse. These laws don’t replace care — they add choice. Compassionate societies invest in both: relieving suffering through care, and respecting autonomy when care is not enough.
