At the 60th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, Humanists International delivered a statement marking International Safe Abortion Day 2025, highlighting the ongoing global challenges to reproductive rights — from conservative governments to conflict and restricted access to care.![]()
🎥 The statement was recorded and delivered by Mirane Vella, a committee member of Humanists Malta, in collaboration with Humanists International.![]()
Her message underscored the serious consequences of denying access to safe abortion — including maternal mortality and injury — and called on states to uphold their commitments under international law to guarantee sexual and reproductive health and rights for all.![]()
